Overview

Private crypto start up is seeking two Business Intelligence Analysts: a senior analyst and a junior analyst. The senior analyst and junior business intelligence analyst will work with the Director, Business Strategy. They will also receive direction, leadership, and insight from the Chief Strategic Officer. Both analysts will serve both the Director and CSO in strategic development planning works, including market research, strategic planning, and business modeling, and conduct financial analysis works in pursuit of the development of a new business unit at the group level.


The ideal candidate will have a strategic perspective, an aptitude for collaborating with business partners and a focus on delivering actionable insights. They should be able to provide in depth data and insights, work both independently & in consultation with team members, and have a strong ability to build sound business relationships. The individuals should be collaborative by nature and have a strong sense of teamwork and be curious to learn the mechanics and dynamics of the business. Both individuals should work with a sense of urgency and proactiveness.


Responsibilities:

The senior-level analyst will support the departmental function activities, including:

  • Work on the development of major financial, business venture, and blockchain projects; conduct business unit planning and new business function development planning.
  • Driving the coordination and review of strategic analyses and implementation with other business units during the group strategic planning process from time to time.
  • Refining corporate and business unit strategies and operating models to ensure these strategies are positioned for successful execution.
  • Executes group-level strategic activities, including the support of business units, business portfolio reviews, and refining the business unit, business lines, and functional level operation.
  • Facilities and supports lines of business and functions in developing and building business strategies, key programs, and major initiatives facilitating and supporting strategic reviews of any emerging strategic issues for senior leaders.
  • Present recommendations for highly complex opportunities and solutions when leading project teams.
  • Partners with C-level executives of other strategic units, including CEO, CFO, risk management, and compliance head, to develop strategic implementation plan and materials for the analyst and regulatory reviews.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.

The junior-level analyst will support the departmental function activities, including:


  • Supports collection of integrated competitive intelligence to understand the strategy, tactics, differences in positioning, strengths, or threats of competitors.
  • To analyze group-level business practices and goals and make suggestions that improve their direction. Potential suggested strategies include new business transformation, increasing revenue, making critical decisions, and helping business unit define their market or identify trends within specific markets.
  • Contributing team members should help the senior staff to troubleshoot current issues and implement solutions, and at the same time, conduct a thorough analysis of a business's competitive environment to help establish proper objectives and goals.
  • Our daily responsibility includes studying current market trends to help companies adjust to changing conditions influencing production or goals. We also help identify critical business opportunities and new business segments to target and adapt to ensure successful market changes.
  • To work closely with upper management to help identify a realistic budget and business decisions, evaluate current practices, and suggest cost-cutting or increase revenue by developing solutions for problems in those areas.
  • Prepare briefings, talking points, and preparation of business plans.
  • Develop and manage project plans, status reports, management, and committee updates.
  • Coordinate and serve as a project manager across strategic initiatives.
  • Help lead various strategic initiative projects as assigned by senior leaders.
  • Ensure the company's goals and project timelines are being met.


Technical Knowledge for Senior BI Analyst Role and Junior BI Analyst Role

  • Senior- Technical knowledge: 3-5 years’ experience with various tools used for data exploration and business intelligence (e.g., Toad, SQL, Oracle, SAS, R, Excel, Tableau)
  • Junior- Technical knowledge: 1-2 years’ experience with various tools used for data exploration and business intelligence

Qualifications for Senior BI Analyst Role and Junior Analyst Role

  • Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a proven ability to influence all levels in an organization and with vendor partners; demonstrated success in leading others to a shared vision and common framework
  • Strong consulting skills: proven ability to gather and define requirements and successfully deliver results
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse design and usage
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and data manipulation skills
  • A creative, critical thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Confident self-starter capable of driving projects to completion
  • Experience with agile BI project delivery methodology
  • Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Economics, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related critical thinking discipline

Languages:

  • English
  • Mandarin but highly welcomed
