The Role
Fidelity Digital Assets (FDA) is dedicated to building products and services that help institutions adopt digital assets and innovate within the increasingly digital world of finance.  Fidelity Investments began researching blockchain technology and digital assets solutions in 2014, and years of research and development have provided us with the deep expertise necessary to build the future of finance.

Developing capabilities that allow Bitcoin and other digital assets to be integrated with existing and new client-facing solutions is a near-term priority for all customer segments.
To support the development of new products, Fidelity Digital Assets is looking for an analyst who is passionate about DeFi. The successful candidate will already be involved with DeFi and use their existing relationships to engage with founders in the field, conduct research on DeFi and identify protocols, chains and systems that are suitable and fit for purpose.

You will have a strong analytical background and be knowledgeable of the latest trends and developments in the DeFi space and familiar with the codebase of common DeFi applications.
It will be important for a candidate to be intellectually curious, have strong technical skills, a deep interest in DeFi and actively engage ecosystem participants through multiple channels.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Analyse DeFi protocols and identify integration opportunities
• Describe a target protocol, how we can use it and why resources should be dedicated to this opportunity
• Compile well-documented reports and articles for internal use
• Collaborate with an international team on product strategy and future development objectives
• Catalogue and classify protocols and map out the DeFi ecosystem
• Conduct a SWOT analysis on engaged protocols with a clear identification of risks and suitability for our current roadmap
• Attend relevant physical and virtual conferences and summits
• Actively engage the developer community to have the most up to date information on protocol updates
• Be able to form opinions and viewpoints on defi protocols and L1/2 chains and emerging technologies for present and future use at Fidelity
• Systematically screen a high volume of start-up pitches and differentiate them from their competitors and raise relevant ones to management
• Proactively identify commonalities and partnerships between vendor start-ups, partners, and internal business partners
• BSc+ degree in a technical field such as Finance, Computer Science or a STEM subject.
• 4yrs+ of relevant work experience
• Familiarity with web2/web3 tech stack and smart contract development (particularly Python and Solidity)
• Strong knowledge of existing successful DeFi protocols and a vision for the direction of DeFi
• Passionate about crypto and defi, extensive personal network in the ecosystem
• Deep technical understanding of DeFi including strong working knowledge of smart contract and blockchain analysis tools
• Ability to source opportunities and create research briefings quickly and effectively through robust analysis of opportunities within the DeFi ecosystem
• Positive attitude and self-motivated with the ability to operate independently with a strong work ethic
• Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
