HYAS Infosec is currently looking for a Director of Intelligence Services to lead and manage the intelligence and analyst team.  The role can be based in our Victoria BC headquarters office or remotely elsewhere.

This leadership role will need to be a "player/coach" and be not just responsible for managing the team and various related functions but acting as a senior individual contributor as well, occasionally doing investigative work themselves and becoming an expert on HYAS products.  Various responsibilities include hiring and people/performance management, managing the work queue across paid and pro-bono customer work, customer proof-of-concept trials, and independent research, with the goal of delivering detailed reports to happy and successful customers, helping sales acquire new customers, working with the Product team to drive increased efficacy and innovation, working with Marketing on blogs, content, and submissions for speaking engagements and conference and expert resource forums.  

To be successful in this role, you will be expected to maintain good relationships with clients, and teammates, be good at context-shifting between tasks, have excellent communication skills, and be responsive and efficient when interacting with clients, partners, and employees. Occasional travel either to meet face-to-face with employees or clients is required.  

The successful candidate will have the courage to tackle adversity, know how to balance a disregard for mediocrity with the realities of working at a Series B startup company, be disciplined and take intelligent risks.

Responsibilities

People and project management
Participation as part of the HYAS Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to inform other SLT members and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on overall team status, work queue, challenges, and needs.

Lead and conduct network infrastructure investigations to discover and map cybercrime, malware and APT-related infrastructure on behalf of customers
Promote HYAS thought leadership through media outreach (blogging, webinars, conference presentations, etc.) and collaborative reporting
Liaise with key security initiatives and trust groups within the security industry to better establish HYAS as both a security thought leader and trusted partner

Required Experience

4+ years of experience in a people-management role
Experience working with customers on threat or fraud investigations including, but not limited to, the collaborative process of gathering information, authoring and presentation of final reports

Experience presenting results of investigations and relevant data at either expert forums or conferences
A good understanding of Internet infrastructure and the use of Command-and-Control (C2) in malware, ransomware, and related attacks.
Experience tracking the global state of security events across multiple verticals and geographies, staying abreast of the latest developments and activities

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of cryptocurrency and related blockchain investigations

Existing network of contacts in the security industry
