About Oasis Oasis is pioneering the next generation of blockchain technology with a focus on privacy-enabled decentralized finance and a responsible data economy. The Oasis Protocol Foundation leads the development of the Oasis Network and supports an ecosystem of developers building privacy-first applications across Web3 and AI. About the Role We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer - Core Services to help build the core infrastructure that powers the Oasis Network. In this role, you will design and implement backend services, APIs, and developer-facing tools that support both internal teams and our broader ecosystem. You’ll work on large-scale data processing, blockchain indexing, and contribute to the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems. This is a hands-on engineering role that offers deep ownership and the opportunity to shape the technical foundations of a growing Web3 platform. What You’ll Be Doing

Core Backend Development - Design, build, and maintain backend services that support developers, users, and other Oasis infrastructure. Build scalable APIs and applications around Oasis runtimes. Data & Indexing Systems - Work with SQL databases, handling large-scale datasets such as blockchain indexing and analytics. Optimize performance through indexing strategies, tuning, and efficient data models. Deployment & Infrastructure - Develop and deploy services into production environments using containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Contribute to DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines as needed. Open Source Collaboration & Reviews - Collaborate with other contributors and the broader open-source community through pull requests, code reviews, and technical discussions. Internal Tooling & Engineering Practices - Help improve team workflows, internal tooling, and engineering culture.Advocate for best practices across the engineering org. Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with product, BD, and ecosystem teams to support integration with partners and community tools.

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience writing production-quality backend systems on blockchain/web3/privacy projects. Proficiency in working with SQL databases, including knowledge of indexing, performance tuning, and schema migrations. Experience in designing and deploying scalable backend services, with a solid understanding of containers (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). A generalist mindset — you’re comfortable jumping between systems, from infrastructure to application-level logic. Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving priorities.

Nice to Have

Prior experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects. Production experience using Go language.  Understanding of blockchain runtimes or privacy-preserving technologies such as TEE’s. Familiarity with distributed systems and consensus mechanisms. Familiarity with Ethereum, Solidity, and EVM-based ecosystems. Experience with blockchain data indexing (especially on Ethereum or similar chains).

What You’ll Get

Work with a mission-driven team at the forefront of privacy, blockchain, and Web3 innovation. Competitive compensation (paid in USDC), with token grants and performance incentives. Remote-first work culture with flexible hours and high ownership. Opportunities to contribute to and influence open-source projects in a cutting-edge field. Attendance at leading industry events and hackathons.
