What are the role responsibilities?
- Lead the development and scaling of the Retro Funding infrastructure, which includes overseeing the creation and refinement of various components such as:
- Retro Funding sign-up processes: Collecting relevant information from projects for the Retro Funding process
- Application review system: Filter out applications which are not compliant with application rules
- Voting application: Provide voting functionality for badgeholders to decide how to reward impact
- Information discovery systems for viewing and interacting with Retro funding results and upcoming Retro Funding rounds
- Define product requirements and specifications by gathering input from stakeholders, including Optimism governance participants and Optimism contributors, and aligning with the project's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop and define the user experience of all Retro Funding tools and interfaces.
- Engage with external engineering teams and partners through Foundation Missions to ensure the successful implementation and integration of various components of the Retro Funding ecosystem.
- Oversee and guide the full product lifecycle, from concept through launch and iterative improvements, ensuring alignment with user needs and Collective objectives.
What skills do you bring?

- Proven experience in a product management role, with a strong track record of successfully shipping products.
- Specific experience in shipping Web3 products, demonstrating a deep understanding of blockchain technologies, decentralized applications, and their unique development challenges and opportunities.
- Experience working in or with decentralized governance systems, understanding the dynamics and mechanisms involved in community-led decision-making processes.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams to drive project milestones and deliverables.
- Willingness to get your hands dirty and work close to the ground, including performing manual tasks when necessary.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A strategic thinker with an analytical mind, capable of breaking down complex problems into actionable steps and guiding teams towards solutions.
