About the Position

As an Accounting Intern at SALT Lending, you'll be working with a dynamic team, as we continue to grow our accounting operations. You'll be at the forefront, working alongside our Accounting and Finance team to help shadow and manage the day-to-day financial activity. We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated Accounting Intern, with a basic understanding of GAAP and finance principles who is ready for a captivating experience at SALT.

The Accounting Intern can expect to participate across multiple business lines. You will help with loan origination on the lending side such as creating wire templates to issue loans and help with loan processing. You will shadow team members across the Accounting and Finance department and assist with other accounting activities.

You should be a motivated team player who is comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced environment. To be a strong candidate for an Accounting Internship, you should possess a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles and bring a positive attitude each day. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.

What you’ll be doing:

• Shadowing members of the Accounting and Finance department
• Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
• Assisting in preparing the 10-K and 10-Q SEC filings
• Working with Excel and would utilize our proprietary loan software
• Completing projects to learn more about accounting
• Gaining experience and knowledge working for a private company that files publicly

What we are looking for:

• The internship will begin in late May/June and will end in August/September (flexible)
• To hire one intern for the summer of 2022
• 20-30 hours a week, with more hours available if requested. Ideally working 9am-1pm MST (flexible)
• Looking to hire a Junior, Senior, or recent college graduate
• Comfortable working in a remote environment
• Attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills
• Good computer skills
• Working towards or completion of a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

• Looking to advance as a Junior Accountant at SALT Lending
• Previous internship experience in Accounting/Finance
