We’re seeking a VP, Sponsorships to lead and manage a team that will build relationships with the most respected brands and institutions in the finance, fintech, and digital asset space. This individual will be responsible for building and scaling the Sponsorships team while ensuring that the team hits and exceeds annual and quarterly revenue targets. As a senior member of the Revenue team, this person will play a critical role in optimizing our selling process and fostering meaningful relationships with our clients, while working hand-in-hand with other senior leaders to achieve relevant OKRs and contribute to important strategic decisions across The Block.
The hiring range for this role is $180,000 - $200,000 base salary, plus commission/bonus, equity, and benefits. Base salary pay within the provided range will be refined based on candidate's experience and location.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute a sponsorships sales strategy to increase sponsorships revenue fourfold over the next 3 years or less
- Refine sales process that is scalable, repeatable, and measurable to reflect a consultative selling method with value-based solution selling techniques
- Lead and effectively manage The Block’s Sponsorships organization, including a growing team of Account Executives and Campaign Managers
- Partner with Sales Operations and Marketing to update sales collateral, communication strategies, and prospecting techniques
- Partner with the Sales Operations team to accurately report on the sales funnel from lead generation through close
- Partner with People Operations to recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier talent
- Manage the team’s ability to hit and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets, while improving sales KPIs (number of qualified meetings, conversion rate, average sales cycle)
- Accurately forecast revenue to the Chief Revenue Officer
- Create a culture of success within the revenue team that contributes to team’s engagement and overall performance
- 10+ years of experience in digital advertising sales with a demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets
- 5+ years managing people
- Ability to act as a transformative manager who attracts, develops and retains high performing staff in a competitive talent environment
- Superb communication and presentation skills; able to communicate at the C-level
- Experience in change management
- Flexibility as a leader; ability to operate at a strategic level, but also deep dive tactically
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure
- Impeccable time management and organizational skills
- An interest in the evolving crypto and digital assets industry
