Web3 Fund Portfolio Manager

Blockdaemon is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Portfolio Manager is a critical role that will lead the management of Blockdaemon’s Web3 investment fund and help shape Blockdaemon’s product & business strategy. Blockdaemon’s recently announced Web3 Fund will use a portion of Blockdaemon’s liquid balance sheet assets to invest in DeFi with the intent to 1) inform Blockdaemon’s business and product strategy and 2) generate meaningful yield from our investments. The Portfolio Manager will play a key role in shaping Blockdaemon’s DeFi product strategy and broader treasury strategy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage new investments in Blockdaemon’s DeFi-focused crypto portfolio
• Develop deep expertise and understanding around market trends, fundamentals and regulatory considerations in cryptocurrency markets
• Leverage insights from the DeFi Fund to provide recommendations to the Product team that will inform the company’s product & business strategy
• Collaborate with the Product & Strategy teams to lead the investment selection process and inform new strategies
• Create & cultivate relationships within the DeFi ecosystem in coordination with our Corporate Development team
• Conduct necessary due diligence on prospective DeFi investments
• Create robust reporting and tracking documents and processes for our DeFi investments
• Ensure proper monitoring and management of the risk exposure of our DeFi investments

Skills and Qualifications:

• 4+ years of investing experience, with preferably 2+ years in an investment banking role and 2+ years in an investing / fund management role
• Proven idea generation and investment track record
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, financials, and valuation
• Must possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of the DeFi markets, protocols, and projects is a bonus, but not required
