Qredo is a decentralized digital asset management infrastructure and product suite designed to unlock new opportunities for institutional investors in digital assets and decentralized finance. Qredo's Layer 2 blockchain protocol enables users to seamlessly transfer and settle BTC, ETH, and ERC-20 tokens. Assets are secured by Qredo’s advanced Gen 2.0 multi-party computation (MPC), which provides tier-1 bank security and institutional-grade governance.

Qredo is looking to recruit a Legal and Compliance Director to join this well-funded scale-up to help demonstrate Qredo’s crypto asset custody and tracking solution to our prospects and to assist with post-sales support. This role will report to the CFO in UK and work closely with Qredo’s marketing, finance, legal and operations teams.

Responsibilities

    • Development and management of compliance policies and processes
    • Ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting
    • Coordinating various foreign regulatory filings
    • Focusing on internal compliance policy review, including ongoing assessments, assisting with compliance review, internal audit reviews and ongoing or ad hoc reviews
    • Providing statistics on monitoring completion as needed
    • Making recommendations for enhancing the firm’s systems, controls and processes
    • Managing monitoring registers and other records necessary to evidence efforts
    • Assisting with maintaining overall compliance with the requirements and obligations prescribed by the regulatory bodies, authorities and other relevant authorities
    • Assist with a broad range of legal/regulatory matters, including regulatory perimeter assessments, licensing/registration applications, product assessment, and regulatory investigations, with particular reference to financial products/services in the FinTech, crypto, and blockchain industries across the EU
    • Ensures quality relationships through effective contracts, budgets, and timely responses
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in a rapidly changing legal/regulatory landscape for crypto, to provide strategic and forward-looking advice and foster compliance
    • Proactively identify legal problems, solutions and potential support needed to provide strategic support to local business team
    • Secures and manages relationships with external counsel

Requirements

    • Minimum 7 years experience in a risk, fraud, compliance, AML or regulatory function, experience working with any regulated financial services business in legal or compliance roles preferred
    • Professional certification in compliance risk management
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations
    • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel
    • Good understanding in performing risk assessments, periodic/trigger reviews and enhanced due diligence
    • Proficiency in compliance applications and programmes
    • To carry out the necessary studies to ensure compliance with the regulations
    • Proactive, diligent team player
