The Position

CoinDesk is looking for a forward thinking and proactive Workplace Experience Manager to support our growing global population. As we continue to adapt to ever-evolving circumstances of today’s world, we are seeking a dynamic individual who cares about the needs of our staff and can reimagine the employee experience, both in-office and remote as we embrace a truly hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be the “face of the office” by engaging with employees at all levels of the organization to understand the pulse of the culture within the workplace.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for local staff with a strong focus on providing a welcoming, positive employee and guest experience.
  • Ongoing staff communications: own internal communication relevant to workplace operations, including upcoming company holidays and office closings, maintenance work, etc.
  • Manage relationships with building, cleaning staff and vendors. Negotiate contract rates and terms as applicable.
  • Efficiently manage end-to-end workplace operations, create and implement processes and procedures (keep up to date on latest COVID protocol including local/state/federal guidelines).
  • Manage budget for in-office and remote expenditures.
  • Deliver programs and services for the physical and virtual workplace culture and employee productivity, such as Wellness programs, virtual gatherings, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate office events (team offsites, holiday parties, team building) in a programmatic manner.
  • Partner with the People & HR team to create a seamless and comprehensive onboarding experience. Build and iterate on existing processes and presentations, coordinate onboarding schedules and facilitate relevant onboarding sessions.
  • Partner with IT to ensure staff have access to the appropriate tools/systems
  • Help schedule interviews as necessary.
  • Be a champion of the CoinDesk culture: organize virtual social activities for employees to participate in (e.g., virtual cooking classes, virtual painting class etc.). Continuously look for new opportunities to connect employees and maintain our culture in a virtual work environment.
  • Partner with marketing to create and place swag orders.



Preferred Qualifications

We understand that not all candidates possess every single attribute and requirement listed; we’re looking for a well rounded candidate who isn’t afraid to tackle the tactical aspects of facilities management and also pivot to the strategic elements of workplace experience.

  • 3-5 years of office/facilities management and/or relevant experience
  • Experience working in a high-growth startup environment, preferably in a global setting
  • Understanding of hybrid workplaces and the implications on staff equity and inclusion
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize amongst a variety of responsibilities
  • Affinity to new technologies and tools that help us stay connected internally
  • Comfortable working autonomously and also as part of the wider People & HR team.
  • Bias to action; can recognize areas of opportunity and implement programs that support our staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as demonstrated in previous roles.
  • Strong follow through and sense of accountability.
  • High attention to detail - able to identify gaps and create solutions to create an optimal hybrid environment for all staff.
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to make CoinDesk the best place to work in crypto with understanding that this job description may not be all encompassing as the future of work continues to change.
