Web3 Accounting Policy Director

About You

Galaxy Digital is seeking a highly skilled, experienced hands-on Accounting Policy Director to join our rapidly growing organization. The Accounting Policy Director is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in the accounting field, with an emphasis on digital assets, and adapts them for application the situation and the Company. You will need to be able to function in a fast-paced environment, for a business that is constantly growing and changing. A desire to dig into the details and roll up your sleeves is required. This role will involve concluding on the application of accounting guidance to specific transactions; implementing new accounting standards; building out the Company’s library of accounting policies and considerations; supporting the broader SEC Reporting Team with filings and correspondence with regulators.

On a given day at Galaxy, you will:

  • Report directly to the Head of SEC Reporting
  • Work alongside experienced accounting professionals in the Accounting Policy, SEC Reporting and Accounting teams
  • Liaise with the various business units on applying existing accounting standards to new products/transactions in the rapidly emerging crypto market
  • Research and document technical accounting issues under applicable accounting standards
  • Reviewing draft transaction documents, concluding on accounting treatment, and ensuring proper analysis and documentation.
  • Present accounting conclusions to external auditors and their subject matter experts
  • Development of the firm’s accounting policies
  • Building out the Company’s formal library of policies and transactional accounting treatment conclusions.
  • Responsible for monitoring and interpreting various emerging technical accounting issues under U.S. GAAP
  • Assist with the implementation of new and existing disclosures in SEC filings
  • Coordinate departmental activities and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Special projects, as needs arise

You’ve worked hard for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPA
  • 10-15 years of experience with a focus on accounting policy
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment

You rock at:

  • Big 4 accounting experience a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards a plus
