Web3 Business Operations Associate

Compensation: $100k - $150k

Location: NY Brooklyn US

Chaos Labs is the first automated, on-chain economic security system enabling crypto protocols to optimize risk management and capital efficiency while protecting user funds. We use world-class custom EVM simulations to understand protocol mechanics and scenario implications. Leading protocols, including Aave, GMX, dYdX, Venus, Uniswap, and more, use our platform and tools to help them manage and secure billions of dollars in assets.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Business Operations Associate to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Operations, you will provide operational support across legal, finance, go-to-market (GTM), procurement, and general administrative (G&A) functions. This role requires a proactive “doer” with a drive to deliver, learn, and contribute to one of the leading innovators in DeFi and Web3.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support:Assist in the management of daily business operations, including workflow management, process improvement, and administrative support.
  • Implement internal processes to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Finance:Manage billing and onboarding of new vendors, service providers, and customers.
  • Prepare quarterly investor reports covering finance, customers, product, and roadmap updates.
  • Support in streamlining internal finance protocols/processes across both U.S and Israel entities.
  • Understand and implement internally basic accounting and finance best practices, working closely with our external accounting and audit firms.
  • Data Analysis:Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights that support business decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain regular reports on operational finance metrics, business outcome KPIs, and other performance indicators that will be determined.
  • Strategic Initiatives Management:Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic business projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with internal stakeholders to divide tasks and deliverables, ensuring progression and completion of projects.
  • Business Support:Provide deal desk support for vertical leads.
  • Evaluate and implement new systems to enhance internal efficiencies and streamline operations.
  • Documentation:Maintain and update internal documentation, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Vendor Procurement and Management:Assist in managing relationships with external vendors, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Launch and manage internal RFP processes.
  • Read redlines in an MSA and negotiate commercial terms that align with business objectives.
  • Manage external vendor/service provider relationships in collaboration with the VP of Business Operations, ensuring timely value delivery, expertise, and high impact.
  • Legal:Own legal repositories and manage internal processes for submitting legal requests.
  • Assist in contract management, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts with vendors and partners.
  • Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of operational best practices.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement in business operations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business operations, sales, finance, or consulting roles, preferably in a technology or fintech environment.
  • Proven track record in managing customer relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Familiarity with DeFi and Web3 concepts and a strong desire to deepen knowledge in these areas.
  • Experience working with technical teams and the ability to translate technical terms to simple business language.
  • Process-oriented, familiar with operational business and finance best practices.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, HubSpot, Notion, and Slack.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Chaos Labs provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of pay for this role is $100,000 - $150,000.
