Web3 ChainForest Finance Lead

SuperLayer-ChainForest is an Investment DAO backed by SuperLayer and the RLY Network Association. Chainforest’s founder, Amit Mukherjee, is a proven VC veteran who previously spent 10 years at NEA, being promoted to becoming the firm’s youngest Partner while being named to Forbes 30under30. He is working closely with Kevin Chou and Mahesh Vellanki, the founders of Rally.io and Forte and Managing Partners of SuperLayer, to create a unique Investment DAO focused on early-stage venture->

SLCF will be managed by the ChainForest community, arguably one of the most engaged andthoughtful communities in web3. It’s diverse 300 person member base includes prominent web3 founders, operators at leading L1s, DeFi protocols and DAOs, NFT creators, designers, musicians, Olympians, and C-suite web2 veterans. SLCF’s thesis is that this special community will outperform traditional venture funds due to the breadth and depth of expertise, insights and access. SLCF will be one of the first Investment DAOs built on top of Syndicate, a thought leader in the future of web3 investing, which will enable a seamless web3-native investment experience. Another unique element of SLCF will be its structure that will allow it to accept the native token of protocol treasuries and crypto founders. This solves a pain point for those with significant crypto holdings looking to diversify their tokens without converting into fiat. It also unlocks a massive pool of capital that is largely unaddressed by traditional investment managers.

We are looking for a highly capable and dynamic Finance Lead to manage the accounting and financial administration of SLCF. This is the perfect opportunity for a person who loves both accounting and crypto. Specifically, we are looking for someone who is excited to work in a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment and is prepared to grow with the team and solve problems we haven’t even uncovered yet.

REQUIREMENTS

The unique structure of SLCF leads to a number of interesting elements that we would like our Finance Lead to help manage. More specifically:

• Design a scalable process for tracking the value of multiple native token deposits over time such that as the native token increases in price, the benefit of that increase is passed onto our LPs
• Create systems to maximize value back to our LPs and optimize when to sell off
• Proactively seek out tax-advangageous ways for treasuries and founders to transfer tokens
• Manage the payout of carry to 200-300 community members via token in an efficient and systematic way
• Oversee the audits and tax compliance filings of direct investment funds and management funds
• Manage the process for capital calls and distributions
• Prepare financial models and design the internal reporting metrics necessary to monitor and manage the business operations of Chainforest and SLCF
• Assist with liaison on tax returns, including K-1's, with outside firms
• Oversee fund admin’s preparation of quarterly and annual direct investment fund financial statements and oversee delivery to investors
• Provide support for the drafting and administration of escrow accounts and agreements established in conjunction with deal exits

To be a good fit for us, you have...

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in accounting, investment management, and/or crypto; investment fund experience a huge plus
• Ideally, experience working for a small organization or start-up in an accounting role
• Strong experience in accounting, administration, and financial reporting for investment funds
• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
• Experience with organizational control environments and a strong process-orientation
• A strong comfort level with working in a changing and dynamic environment
• Demonstrated experience being a self-starter who can operate in a fast-paced environment and can work independently and responsibly with limited supervision
• Strong attention to detail, follows tasks through to completion and a high sense of urgency
• Mandatory: A strong crypto curiosity and passion for the space
