About the role:

We are hiring a highly motivated Consumer Protection Officer to help advance our U.S. and Canadian consumer compliance program to a best in class program. This is a highly visible role with valuable and meaningful work. You will independently lead the efforts to strengthen our program and controls and provide effective solutions to support the fast-paced growth within U.S. and Canadian markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and services to execute on enhancements that drive local regulatory requirements
  • Work directly with our Customer Support, Complaints, Risk, and Product teams to support ongoing efforts to support our customers
  • Understand applicable U.S. and Canadian AML and consumer protection regulations and partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive compliant solutions
  • Lead cross-regional and cross-functional project teams and stakeholders of all levels
  • Represent your team in communication with cross-functional departments
  • Assist business/process owners to strengthen their controls and adopt processes that will continue to grow the business in a compliant manner
  • Manage a fast-moving environment, including developing and implementing an operating model to optimize compliance globally
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with key regulators and examiners to identify and influence consumer protection
  • Stay current of latest industry trends and updates to consumer protection regulations that impact the regulatory environment
  • Effectively manage change and promote the consumer compliance culture, where all team member share accountability
  • Focus on quality and timely complaints responses, including regulatory complaints
  • 5+ years of compliance management, business analysis or consulting experience with exposure to banking, payment companies and/or FinTech startups
  • Experience in consumer protection, specifically, UDAAP, and CFPB’s consumer protection regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to synthesize complex concepts
  • Self-starter, hands on and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and being a self-starter
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a demanding startup environment
  • Be able to prioritize responsibilities and follow up in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver results in a cross -functional, global organization
  • Be able to work collaboratively and constructively in a team environment
  • Strategic thinker, data driven and analytical in approach to problem solving, thinking of ways to optimize and streamline business outcomes
  • Effective communication skillset with all levels of management in an organized and professional manner
  • Working knowledge of consumer compliance and risk management frameworks within a crypto company
  • Bachelor’s Degree
