Blockdaemon is hiring a Web3 Contracts & Compliance Attorney

Blockdaemon is looking for a Contracts & Compliance Attorney with a background in reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts to join our small but mighty Legal team. This position is also responsible for oversight and development of internal processes and standards related to strategic product selection, product negotiations, and contract development and renewal. You will be our second attorney hire reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel. This is an amazing opportunity to help build out the legal team at a fast-growing blockchain infrastructure company. The ideal candidate is practical, comfortable making bold decisions, can operate independently, and is effective working cross-functionally in a rapid-growth, fast paced environment.
You Will:
- Draft and negotiate vendor contracts including: Software as a Service, licensing, non-disclosure, procurement, and other commercial and technology related agreements
- Map out Blockdaemon procurement strategy using market trends and analytical rigor to identify efficiencies that further our goals
- Manage contract and approval workflows, including the review, iteration, execution and record-keeping of contractual agreements.
- Ensure contracts are managed in line with internal and external compliance standards, especially cyber-security requirements, GDPR and other applicable laws.
- Answer vendor assessment questions regarding cyber-security and other similar more technical questionnaires.
- Support business operations to enable compliance across the firm with contract terms and regulations, including identifying new procedures
- Manage the supplier set-up process with customer procurement teams.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure the deal is properly executed; providing support both internally and externally on areas to improve the deal, or on items that are not being completed on time or in a manner that falls short of expectations.
You Have:
- Minimum of three years of contract drafting and negotiation experience at technology companies or law firms
- Attorney in good standing in the US, EU or other jurisdiction
- Expertise in time management and handling of urgent requests
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and to manage internal disputes regarding approach
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
- Analytical ability, project management experience and the ability to explain contract requirements
- Technical knowledge of blockchain, cyber-security, and data-privacy requirements a plus
- Be a doer that can meet deliverables on time in an evolving, high growth or start-up environment
- Familiarity with Google G-Suite, Docusign, linksquares or other contract management tools is a plus
