Crypto CDD Senior Analyst

What we’re looking for:

Cross River is seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented candidate to join the Crypto Compliance Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Team. You will be reporting to the VP, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Lead and support in the onboarding, due diligence and reporting of crypto customers. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Financial Crime Compliance team, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science, etc. You will be expected to complete ad-hoc customer reviews, and support projects, as necessary, to help create innovative and scalable processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Review due diligence materials submitted by prospective crypto customers including documentation of their business model(s), licensing status, risk and controls frameworks, etc against applicable regulations, industry best practices, and in accordance with established Bank procedures;
• Provide compliance liaison support to current and prospective crypto customers, developing thoughtful analysis and drafting relevant follow-up questions on the due diligence materials received. In addition, recommend controls enhancements, independent testing, etc as necessary and appropriate.
• Execute ongoing monitoring reviews in accordance with established Bank procedures;
• Support the Crypto Compliance Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team in meeting key objectives, including producing high quality reviews in a high productivity environment;
• Provide insights and recommendations on improving quality or how to reach optimal efficiency in current processes;
• Develop deep cross-functional partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance due diligence processes and minimize the risks to Cross River;
• Working knowledge of the current AML regulations and its application, considering the business model, regulatory scenario, and products in place.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
• 2-3 years of BSA/AML compliance experience, with experience supporting blockchain and/or crypto customers preferred;
• Strong understanding of the cryptocurrency regulatory landscape, emerging risks, etc;
• Experience balancing operational case load and project-based work;
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, establishing cooperative and collaborative working relationships.
