What we’re looking for

Cross River is seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented candidate to join the Crypto Compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Investigations Team. You will be reporting to the VP, AML Transaction Monitoring Lead and investigate customer activity across multiple platforms to identify any potential money laundering risks. This may result in the drafting and filing of suspicious activity reports for your investigation in line with regulatory expectations. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Financial Crime Compliance team, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science, etc. You will be expected to complete ad-hoc investigations, and support transaction monitoring projects, as necessary, to help create innovative and scalable transaction monitoring processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply investigative techniques quickly to AML transaction monitoring reviews for our crypto products, which may lead to documenting and filing suspicious activity reports required by government authorities (e.g. law enforcement, regulators, etc);
  • Apply blockchain analytic techniques to complex information sets in order to make logical and supported recommendations;
  • Support the Crypto Compliance AML Transaction Monitoring team in meeting key objectives, including producing high quality investigations in a high productivity environment;
  • Provide insights and recommendations on improving quality or how to reach optimal efficiency in current processes;
  • Develop deep cross-functional partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance investigative processes and minimize the risks to Cross River;
  • Provide input to ongoing risk assessments for the AML Transaction Monitoring program;
  • Working knowledge of the current AML regulations and its application, considering the business model, regulatory scenario, and products in place.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
  • 2-3 years of BSA/AML compliance experience;
  • 2-3 years of experience conducting blockchain monitoring and investigations;
  • Strong understanding of the cryptocurrency regulatory landscape, emerging risks, etc;
  • Experience balancing operational case load and project-based work;
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, establishing cooperative and collaborative working relationships.
