Web3 Director, Global AML Investigations

Ripple is expanding its Global AML Investigations team and seeks to hire a Director who is highly experienced in implementing AML Transaction Monitoring systems, and leading and overseeing the Global AML Investigations team. This position will report directly to the Global Head of AML & Sanctions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Implement automated transaction monitoring surveillance systems (fiat and cryptocurrency) and processes for Ripple’s regulated subsidiaries in various jurisdictions by working closely with internal product, data and engineering teams and external consultants, vendors and law firms.
• Drive the continuous improvement of transaction monitoring processes and systems used by the team through the use of data to more efficiently and effectively mitigate any money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
• Lead the development of transaction monitoring models, including rule creation, tuning, calibration, segmentation and optimization to ensure coverage of all relevant money laundering and terrorist financing typologies.
• Draft and maintain Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity procedures and system model documents for Ripple’s regulated subsidiaries in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage, lead, mentor, guide and build out a team of investigation analysts and ensure the team carries out independent in-depth transaction monitoring analysis in line with the prescribed regulations.
• Oversee alerts, case investigations and Suspicious Activity filing processes for Ripple’s regulated subsidiaries.
• Ensure the team is well versed with drafting, documenting and reporting of Suspicious Activity reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare accurate reports to the senior management on the Investigation team’s performance on an ongoing basis through detailed and timely Management Information Systems.
• Prepare project plans/dashboards to apprise the management team on the status of implementation of various transaction monitoring systems.
• Attend industry conferences and calls, staying up to date on continuing developments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 12+ years compliance experience AML transaction monitoring within a bank or a FinTech environment.
• 2+ years of people management experience
• Proven ability to understand complex AML and terrorist financing risk typologies and develop monitoring scenarios to mitigate such risks
• Understanding or experience with blockchain monitoring solutions (TRM Labs, Solidus, Chainalysis).
• Strong knowledge of model risk management and associated regulatory requirements
• Demonstrated ability working with people in connection with challenging issues.
• Strong organization skills along with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; at ease communicating and presenting to senior management.
• Previous blockchain/DLT investigations experience preferred
• CAMS certification a plus
