About The Role As we continue to rapidly expand at Kraken, we’re looking for an Internal Communications Director to help our employees - Krakenites - stay informed, engaged and empowered. With all the exciting things happening within the organization, and the fast pace at which the company and wider industry is developing, this is the perfect role for an experienced internal communications leader to set the direction for our teams.  

In this remote position, you’ll be tasked with developing our internal communications strategy and working together with teams across the company to ensure successful execution. 

Your responsibilities include keeping Krakenites all over the world informed of the strategy, results and ambitions of the company and optimizing our content and channels to help drive business results. Reporting to our Global Head of Communications, you’ll also work closely with our Director of Recruitment and Head of People to support internal programs and employee engagement initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing • Managing strategy, content, execution and cadence of major announcements, launches, and internal events • Partnering with executives to drive thought leadership and change management efforts within their teams and to the rest of the company • Standardize reporting and updates across the organization aiding teams in talking about OKRs and sharing these updates • Developing, administering and implementing feedback from employee engagement surveys • Partnering with HR to develop and promote employee content including videos and internal messages. • Coaching senior leaders and providing communications strategies for internal meetings to create consistency and clarity all while continuing to promote the Kraken culture. • Supporting communications for company acquisitions and mergers.  • Proactively identifying opportunities and developing new communications programs/strategy to uplevel internal communications and improve processes for more proactive, clear and succinct communications

Who You Are  • You have 10+ years of experience in an internal communications role. It’s a plus if you’ve worked with crypto or in the FinTech industry previously! • You have a Bachelors in communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent field • You’re a creative, strategic thinker and storyteller with strong writing and editing skills who can communicate what we need employees to know, feel and do • You have experience translating complex ideas into simple, authentic, and compelling communications and fluidly navigating between strategy and execution • You’re an experienced strategic thought partner who can work closely with everyone from leaders and executives to front-line employees without missing a beat • You have a growth mindset with excitement for experimentation, iteration and improvement • You’re flexible, adaptable and have the ability to ruthlessly prioritize and juggle multiple high-level initiatives • You’re a creative problem solver who develops new and innovative ways to connect to a growing remote-first employee base • You’re no newbie when it comes to crafting recruitment marketing and employer branding strategies with HR
