About the Role:

As the Director of Finance and first finance hire, you will have an opportunity to build the finance organization from scratch for the fastest growing Web3 talent marketplace today. In this role you will manage overall financial operations and reporting, financial statements and accounting, financial systems, and work closely with the co-founders on strategic finance. You will be core to creating our culture around financial rituals and rigor and building out the team to support our exponential growth and be a catalyst for change where needed across different functions.



Areas of Focus:

This is not a typical Finance leader role. While we are looking for someone with a Finance (accounting & FP&A) background, you need to be comfortable in a high growth environment focused on building, monitoring and enhancing processes and systems that ensure financial health of our network. In this role, you are not only an expert in all things Finance, but also someone who can help us think through and build the processes around an effective Finance effort. You are able to identify and analyze an existing/potential problem and find suitable solutions for each situation.



Responsibilities

  • Manage overall financial operations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and metrics
  • Own the P&L, invoicing and billing systems, and accounting processes
  • Be the subject matter expert in Finance to assist with process improvements and to develop new tools and analysis to enhance our understanding of the business.
  • Build out the Finance team to help drive and enable the company's fast growth: anticipate needs, identify, hire, and develop the Finance team.
  • Bulletproof our reporting process to provide actionable insights to leadership across the organization in a timely manner.
  • Manage all aspects of cash flow by monitoring the in and out flows of capital (e.g., implement billing and expense tracking processes).
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leadership to support data driven business decisions
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, budget v actual reviews, finance KPIs and financial consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs and strategies
  • Oversee outsourced accounting team deliverables ensuring monthly books close accurately and reconciliation is scalable

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in finance organizations - accounting and / or FP&A, marketplaces are a plus
  • A deep understanding of financial principles including US GAAP, best practices, and marketplace business levers/KPIs.
  • An excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Experience of managing accounts receivable and payables at scale
  • Track record of building strong teams and leading / influencing others
  • Cross-functional leader; experience engaging with sales, product/engineering, operations
  • Analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills
  • Clear and concise communicator both written and spoken
  • Extremely organized - handling multiple projects at once
  • Process-oriented self starter who can identify and fill gaps before others
  • Thrive in a flexible, remote only environment
