Open to considering remote candidates in the US and Canada.

Interested in helping us change the world of finance and payments forever? You will lead an experienced team in hands-on development of Horizon, our open-source developer SDK and API gateway for the Stellar blockchain. This is some of the most visible and critical infrastructure we work on because it is the interface between the Stellar network and all of the applications that build on it.

SDF has a robust engineering ladder, with clear growth paths for both individual contributors and managers.

In this role, you will:

  • Help define the feature strategy to drive success for Stellar’s developer community
  • Plan and execute sprints, track progress and oversee day-to-day tactical decisions
  • Mediate technical discussions and review PRs
  • Jump in as needed with code fixes and hands-on contributions
  • Mentor and grow your team members through feedback, reviews and career guidance
  • Support the SDF’s production Horizon instance
  • Help support the open source contributions to Horizon and the Stellar SDKs

You have:

  • 3+ years of experience writing code in a major language
  • 3+ years of experience managing a software team
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or other STEM field
  • Experience designing and building out programmatic APIs
  • Experience maintaining highly available infrastructure
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Highly autonomous; able to find clarity in ambiguous circumstances
  • Excellent communicator; comfortable working with remote team members
