Executive Producer, CoinDesk Originals
CoinDesk, the leading digital media company in the rapidly growing world of digital assets, is seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial leader to build a new video division of our multimedia team — one focused on the production of evergreen video programming: both series (limited and ongoing) as well as one-off projects. The Executive Producer of Originals will be a hands-on player-coach and own the operations and strategy of CoinDesk’s original videos, overseeing projects from the idea phase through production and all the way to distribution.
This is an opportunity to shape the programming that educates and informs the public about an entirely new asset class. Cryptocurrency and digital assets are an entirely new, digitally native system for building personal wealth and savings, and the public is hungry for good, authoritative information that speaks to them.
The EP of Originals will oversee several different types of projects: new and ongoing video franchises, premium limited series, social video, and occasional one-offs. In consultation with key company stakeholders and the Head of Multimedia, the EP of Originals will develop strategy and creative around projects, greenlight them, and ensure they are executed on time. Working alongside CoinDesk’s product, audience, commercial and marketing teams, the EP will also help define success for individual projects, including distribution models.
For each project the EP of Originals will be responsible for allocating resources to get it done, whether that means assembling a team, partnering with external vendors, hiring freelance help, or a mix of all three. Extensive experience managing budgets and teams is a must.
The Executive Producer of Originals reports to the Head of Multimedia.
