Web3 Financial Accountant (3-5 years)

Mycelium is currently seeking a CA / CPA qualified accountant to join its team and lead the business’ accounting function. As a member of Mycelium, you will be involved in multiple projects spanning the blockchain technology space.

As a decentralised organisation, this specific role can be based anywhere in Australia.

Your Mission

• Assist the financial reporting team in month-end closing, financial reporting, and various other regulatory reporting requirements for several entities
• Manage relationships with advisors to ensure the correct accounting treatment of complex transactions
• Liaising with advisors to ensure quarterly, year-end, and other statutory deadlines are adhered to
• Review journal entries timely and ensure data input is complete and accurate
• Manage relevant documentation for accounting policies and regulations as an internal reference point
• Maintain general ledger mapping for multiple entities
• Ensure timely remittance and filings for all jurisdictions through routine review and reconciliation
• General support across the wider finance team, opportunity to see and learn new skill sets
• Management accounting (particularly budgeting and budget compliance) across multiple teams and entities

Requirements

• University degree in relevant accounting, business or commerce discipline
• 3-5 years experience in financial accounting or management accounting (highly desirable)
• CA / CPA Qualification (highly desirable)
• Genuine interest in the blockchain industry and understanding of the ecosystem
• A passion for and experience leveraging systems and driving process improvements
• Strong technical and analytical aptitude
• Proactive and focused on process improvement
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Able to work autonomously and take ownership with little supervision
