Web3 Financial Risk Officer

Ripple is hiring a Financial Risk Officer to oversee all aspects of financial risk within the company, including market, liquidity and credit risk. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Risk Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing a financial risk strategy and framework including establishing financial risk management policies, procedures and processes, setting and monitoring limits, defining key risk indicators, and identifying and mitigating financial risk in existing and new products. You will work collaboratively across the organization with our legal, compliance and product teams to ensure our risk position is inline with expectations. You will build a team to support our financial risk management activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Create and implement a financial risk framework (including market, credit and liquidity risk), as well as related processes, standards and procedures to achieve Ripple’s short and long term strategic, financial and operational goals
• Manage financial (market, capital, liquidity and credit) risks for Ripple’s businesses globally
• Work cross functionally with legal, compliance and product to ensure alignment/reinforcement of the financial risk framework across the entire enterprise
• Assess existing and new business lines, quantify risk limits, and identify/monitor key risk indicators to affirm financial health
• Communicate to key stakeholders, including the board and executive leadership, regarding the financial risk profile of the business
• Ensure the organization’s financial risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and strategic imperatives of the organization, including keeping abreast of emerging risk
• Build and manage a strong, global risk team
• Create a culture where good financial risk process both optically and in practice accelerates business

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in financial risk management roles for entities within the regulated financial services industry, trading and/or credit experience preferred
• Knowledge of blockchain-based systems a plus
• Experience designing and implementing financial risk management programs and processes from the ground up
• Experience understanding new businesses and funds flows to identify corresponding risks and develop controls
• Player/coach mindset, able to roll up your sleeves to take action quickly, as well as build and successfully manage a global team
• Excellent communication skills, including strong executive presence to participate in Board and management team risk discussions, clear written and verbal communication skills
