Our Government Affairs team is responsible for high-level, strategic engagement with external stakeholders globally, including but not limited to, political office holders, governmental bodies, trade and industry associations, ministries, and non-governmental organisations.
You will be part of a diverse global Government Affairs team, working with different cross-functional teams to identify and analyse key policy issues, developments, and market sentiment. This person will engage with government officials and regulators in France as well as organisations and contribute to execute the company’s advocacy.
Responsibilities:
- Leading Government Affairs efforts in France to establish Binance as an expert in the Crypto and Web3 industry on policy matters
- Monitor, track and analyse policy developments in France and analyse their developments in policy making and national and regional sentiment and their impact on the industry and provide tangible insights to the business leaders
- Coordinate and develop Binance positions on upcoming legislations and regulations
- Align with senior management on policy positions that have an impact on the company
- Manage projects across a wide range of topics including outreach, engagement, and planning and coordinating events and meetings
- Develop and lead advocacy campaigns with communications, legal and business teams to articulate clear positions on core issue areas
- Actively work towards establishing or joining industry associations that can serve as third party advocates for the industry
- Identify and engage opinion formers, third party advocates and opinion elites (academics, think tanks) in the region to push forward industry positions
- Engage with external stakeholders and help them understand major product developments, launches, policy changes, or technology updates
- Work cross-functionally with teams across business, legal, communications compliance and product to understand priorities and develop custom projects where necessary
- Serve as a spokesperson for Binance
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience with civic engagement, government or political bodies, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations in France
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of France’s social and political dynamics
- Specialised in Financial Services’ policy and political environments. Interest in digital policy and innovation would be a significant plus
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex technical and regulatory issues
- Ability to lead campaigns and to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with both external and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills in French and English
