Your Mission
As Grants Lead, your mission is to build a best in class grant-making program that will increase Uniswap’s impact and reach.

In August 2022, the Uniswap Foundation was formed to allocate $60M in the form of grants to academics, developers and entrepreneurs building tools and resources that make it easier for key stakeholders to participate in the Uniswap Ecosystem. The Grants Program began a few years ago as a community-driven initiative out of governance. Currently, this grants committee manages the end-to-end grants lifecycle, from the application process through evaluation, disbursement, milestone check-ins, and ongoing management. Now, we are looking for a Grants Lead to take the program to the next level; formalize an investment strategy, scale the existing grants process, and manage new programs to allocate capital.

What you’ll do:

    • Refine and communicate the strategic vision for grant giving
    • Build out efficient and effective end-to-end grants application, approval, and management processes, ensuring a positive grantee experience, and allocating the grants budget to best support Uniswap
    • Manage the grants committee
    • Establish relationships to support grantees and enhance the grantee pipeline, and proactively source high potential grantees
    • Take gaps and missing pieces in the ecosystem and translate them into RFPs and grants
    • Operationalize a customer service mindset across the grants team that fosters a positive grantee experience while optimizing outcomes for Uniswap
    • Measure KPIs and communicate the impact that grants have on the Uniswap protocol and community
    • Monitor grants budget and ensure compliance with all relevant mandates and regulations

What you'll bring to the table:

    • 5+ years work experience in grant-making, venture capital, management consulting, impact investing, or corporate development
    • Experience overseeing the allocation of $5M+ in capital through partnerships investments or grants
    • You understand defi and can develop a clear view on the kinds of tooling, interfaces, research and so on that will be beneficial to protocol
    • Experience managing teams of contributors, both contractors and full time
    • Creative problem solver with optimistic attitude, particularly as it relates to re-scoping grants and managing interests of multiple stakeholders
    • Excellent communication skills: you have experience giving quick, clear, and concise feedback

Nice to have:

    • MBA
    • Previous experience in open source development
    • Professional experience operating in crypto
