Web3 Head of Communications

About the Role:

21.co is looking for a Head of Communications, with deep public relations and media experience, as well as knowledge and understanding of the crypto and fin-tech space. This person should have a passion for storytelling. This role will be based in our NYC office.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Developing 21.co media strategy
• Creating a messaging framework which integrates the company’s brand identity, vision and mission, product roadmaps and ties to relevant social, technology, and media trends.
• Overseeing the drafting of press releases, corporate announcements, bylines and blog posts on thought leadership, and other key pieces of content.
• Identifying and maintaining a full list of targeted publications in key markets by tiers; and establishing and nurturing relationships with key media contacts.
• Leading the identification, development, pitching and placement of company-related stories in targeted media.
• Developing a robust spokespeople program – including media training, biography development, staffing interviews, and tracking through the publishing process.
• Developing a clear measurement metric framework to track performances and identify key opportunities.

What You Will Need To Be Great In This Role:

• 5+ years of experience in PR
• Mix of agency and in-house experience
• Experience managing PR and media relations globally
• Startup experience, preferably in fin-tech and/or crypto
• Pre-existing relationships with reporters in the business and technology sectors
• Strategic problem solver; intelligent and creative
• Exceptional writing and editing skills
• Extreme attention to detail

This role is based in New York City and will be expected to work from our New York office in a hybrid model Monday - Wednesday.

(NYC only) Pursuant to Section 8-102 of title 8 of the New York City administrative code, the base salary range for this role is $225,000 - $250,000. Total compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
