CoinDesk Indices (CDI) provides crypto index and data solutions to customers allowing them to license, ingest and use information across their enterprise and consume data feeds in real-time. Mission-critical datasets will serve as a critical source of information across CoinDesk Media, DCG subsidiaries and the most respected capital markets firms globally.
About this role
CDI is seeking a Head of Index Research to report to the President. The role is to lead the index research group in designing indices and providing thought leadership to expand the world’s leading crypto index offering, which includes benchmark pricing and systematic strategies for index-linked products. The Head of Research will collaborate with internal and external partners to create new index concepts and educational content to support clients and investors.
Responsibilities
- Manage a group of research analysts and index strategists to develop index methodologies and related research content.
- Liaise with internal and external partners in the process of innovating, analyzing, and developing new index methodologies.
- Lead index investment strategy content to publish periodic content on index analytics.
- Work closely with the executives who source the underlying index data and present it via media channels.
- Educate on applying crypto concepts in traditional portfolio frameworks and instruct on similarities and differences between the new technology and traditional assets.
Requirements
- Experience in calculating crypto and/or traditional financial indices.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative or financial field such as finance or mathematics.
- CFA and/or Ph.D.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in the financial industry.
- Experience with alternative assets with a strong knowledge of digital assets in a portfolio framework.
- Demonstrated experience publishing research targeted to the institutional space.
- Advanced Python programming.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to simplify complicated concepts.
- Experience managing research analysts preferred.
