Web3 Head of People

Compensation: $63k - $90k estimated

Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area US

We’re looking for a creative and thoughtful Head of People to come in and help scale our growing teams. Proof is on a mission to build products that facilitate connection, education, and entertainment for NFT artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. Our work is to ultimately make the space more accessible and diverse, and pioneer the next generation of web3 community, tools and tech. As the Head of People, you will lead the People function, overseeing all People-related programs, with a focus on building the function from the ground up and setting the People strategy.


In this role, you will work directly with our President in coaching and supporting our leaders, managers, and employees through varied situations including employee relations, team and organizational design, talent development and more. In addition, you will lead various aspects of People Operations (e.g., onboarding and offboarding, HRIS, benefits administration, immigration, etc.) and help us scale existing or build new approaches to making the employee experience world-class.


This role will be based in Los Angeles, with a hybrid approach of a couple of days per week on average in the office and the option for a few other days from home or elsewhere. The role reports directly to Proof’s President and will be a key member of their leadership team.

You will:

  • Be a trusted partner to people managers and team members alike and proactively address issues that may be holding people and teams back from doing their best work
  • Serve as a strategic business partner in driving the business as it relates to our people, culture and organizational effectiveness
  • Work with leaders across the company to translate our business strategy and priorities into people and organization-related initiatives that accelerate our progress
  • Bring both best practices as well as fresh problem-solving on issues of talent management and development, organizational design, retention, engagement, and more
  • Develop, implement and maintain People Ops programs enabling and supporting the team, to include: Onboarding, Performance, Career laddering, People data + analytics, DE&I, Engagement
  • Help strengthen our culture and people practices in how we engage and inspire team members, support growth and development, and help them perform to their potential
  • Draw on and create new quantitative (employee surveys, people analytics) and qualitative (roundtables, exit interviews) insights to shape and strengthen our priorities
  • Demonstrate expertise in employment issues to drive high integrity employee relations, DE&I, performance management, and conflict resolution strategies
  • Deliver results in a fast-paced environment with a high volume workload

You are:

You have:

  • 10+ years of People function experience in supporting end to end People Ops/HR/HR business partnership in tech industry and at a startup.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within and be successful in a high-growth environment, adapting and adjusting quickly to changing priorities
  • 5+ years specifically in a HR BP / People Partner role working directly with leaders at the Director- and VP-level to support them on organizational and employee issues
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills; the ability to translate data for different audiences
  • Demonstrated functional competence across areas of the People function, including organizational design, talent and performance management, employee relations, change management, and strategic workforce planning, HR operations and compliance
  • Experience leading small teams of HR professionals and coaching them to success
  • Ability to thrive in a distributed and hybrid team environment
  • Project management skills and ability to drive programs and execute on projects independently and resourcefully
