Web3 Director of Finance

The Director of Finance at Merkle Science will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring financial stability, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role involves managing the finance team, driving financial planning and analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the technology and blockchain industry.

Financial Management:

·       Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.

·       Manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory requirements.

·       Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and reporting.

·       Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

·       Lead the budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates.

·       Monitor and analyze budget performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.

·       Provide detailed financial analysis and modeling to support strategic initiatives.

Compliance and Strategic Planning:

·       Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards.

·       Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure financial governance.

·       Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.

·       Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and strategies.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Communication

·       Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

·       Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for finance staff.

·       Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions.

·       Present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.

·       Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.

 

👀  What are we looking for? 

 

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

·       Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

·       Proven experience in the technology or blockchain industry is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

·       Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.

·       Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling.

·       Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.

·       Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
