Web3 Mechanical / Industrial Engineering - Intern (Spring Semester)

Compensation: $94k - $150k estimated

DESCRIPTION: The Mechanical / Industrial Engineering - Intern is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Engineering - Intern will assist the infrastructure team to develop hardware products to enhance those used in blockchain mining.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Mechanical / Industrial Engineering - Intern, you will be instrumental in developing and refining new products and innovation to reshape the blockchain industry’s repair process. Blockchain hardware is billion-dollar industry that is prime for product innovation and systems integration.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Organize theengineering design development to ensure product and process design are optimized for manufacturability
  • Ensure the transferability of the industrial activities by using standard processes
  • Drive industrialization resources in the development phase, pre-production phase and post-production phase
  • Organize the management of Special Processes and critical operations regarding product safety and reliability
  • Validate the quotation relative to the industrial costs
  • Ensure the implementation of the standard processes and the standard product solutions: SMP/SML, standard equipment, standard solutions
  • Ensure the manufacturability (and the transferability if relevant) using validated technologies
  • Ensure co-engineering methodology and rules are followed up to optimize lead time and quality of development
  • Validate, for the industrial scope, the gate reviews of the DFQ (design for quality) , and that the conditions to pronounce the Serial Go are fulfilled
  • Ensure documentation and ERP / MRP data are complete, on time and with the good level of quality
  • Organize and ensure the implementation of manufacturing equipment on time, in line with EHS rules, with good ergonomic conditions, and compliant with the QCD (quality cost delivery) targets of the project
  • Drive continuous improvement actions and support production
  • Assist with management of vendor and internal resources

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BS or 3/4th year undergraduate
  • Industrial / manufacturing /engineering background with 2 years' experience
  • Ability to project manage and work with a team ofengineers, vendors, and technicians in technical fields
  • Technical experience of ProcessEngineering, writing, and improving manufacturing work instructions, writing vendor proposal requests, Lean Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with blockchain hardware or mining operations
  • Experience in mechanical or industrial and project management

A range of compensation is provided for transparency, however different factors may affect this range. Some of these factors may include (but are not limited to) education, training, credentials, skills, geographic location, and experience. This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.
Range of Compensation: $25.00-$35.00/hr.
