Anchorage Digital is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Prime Brokerage Accounting team. Reporting to the Prime Brokerage Accounting Lead, this individual will be responsible for preparing all assigned prime brokerage and digital asset related accounting and reporting deliverables. The role presents a unique and exciting opportunity to navigate the complexities of accounting for digital assets across a variety of business products and strategies.

Technical Skills:
- Possess a strong understanding of US GAAP
- Apply advanced skills in Google Sheets to efficiently and reliably work with large data sets.
- Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, suggesting different potential approaches and adapting to new circumstances rapidly.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Month end accounting close responsibilities for brokerage related legal entities and all digital assets held, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and FBO fiat and digital asset account reconciliations.
- Provide reporting deliverables/support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of core accounting processes
- Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
Organizational Knowledge:
- Stay informed on industry pronouncements, emerging trends, and developments in accounting and reporting for digital assets, SEC regulations, and lending practices through regular participation in training opportunities.
- Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested
Communication and Influence
- Collaborate with product, brokerage operations, legal, engineering and FP&A teams to resolve outstanding items, account for new products and drive process improvements.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of related accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting experience and/or in a fast paced startup/Fintech environment.
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto economy.
- Able to work well in a dynamic environment, implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience accounting for digital assets, prime brokerage services, digital asset borrowing/ lending, and/or derivatives.
Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
- You can write SQL queries or build data integrations into Google Sheets/Excel.
- Experience working at a publicly traded company
- Working knowledge of Netsuite and Floqast
- Previous experience in a remote environment
- You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
