Evmos is hiring a Web3 Paralegal
Compensation: $54k - $80k estimated
Location: FL Miami US
Our team is focused on building Evmos, the port-of-entry for launching applications across multiple blockchains.
Evmos is the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Hub on Cosmos and enables developers to launch apps that run smart contracts across any number of EVM and Cosmos-based blockchains. It makes that process as simple and seamless as possible by allowing developers to continue creating apps in programming languages like Solidity or Vyper they're already accustomed to in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Evmos opens a new frontier for blockchain applications, expanding the functionality of the EVM by enabling cross-chain applications that tap the liquidity and user bases of multiple blockchain ecosystems to provide more unified experiences.
What is Legal Operations at Evmos?
Imagine what it would be like to join an innovative, fun, remote-first, fully financed team of (slightly) nerdy techies.
It's even better than that.
We love what we do (building high tech for techies), and apparently so does our community. We have a vision (=product roadmap) what we believe we need to build- but to do that we need about twice the number of cool people to join us.
We are looking for an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join our growing legal team. You will manage and direct various parts of legal operations, corporate book, data-management, legal research, contract management, vendor relationships, deal-based transactions, budgeting, billing, and other functions.
If this is sounding interesting to you, read on and let's chat!
What you'll be doing
- Assist with conducting legal research on various federal and state laws and regulations;
- Assist in drafting corporate documents including vender agreements, corporate resolutions, operating agreements and other corporate governance documents, and transactional forms;
- Manage legal forms, developing templates, and organizing documents and systems;
- Assist in the management of entity compliance, including required annual renewals, filings, license maintenance, and/or communications with relevant vendors/state authorities;
- Assist with compiling, managing, and tracking the legal team's budget and billing (including, as necessary, interfacing with outside law firms, vendors, and other service providers);
- Manage virtual data rooms, including creating and updated related indexes and trackers, and conduct primary legal diligence for deal-based transactions;
- Provide project management for various legal projects and compliance initiatives; and
- Schedule and coordinate internal legal team meetings and events.
- 3+ years of combined paralegal, operations, or project management experience, preferably with at least 2 years within a technology company, including experience reviewing and drafting legal contracts and agreements
- Experience with technological systems and tools and comfort with data-collection and data-management processes is a plus
- Flexible, independent, and forward thinking with a willingness to learn and engage in all aspects of the legal team and business
- Self starter with initiative and who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, juggling many matters at once, and pitching in on areas outside your expertise
- Project-management capabilities, including the ability to plan, initiate, monitor and implement a strategy and execute projects that achieve strategic goals
