About the role

Interop Labs recently announced the Interchain Amplifier protocol. The Interchain Amplifier is a set of on-chain contracts and related services that enable integrators to easily connect chains and off-chain capabilities to the Axelar network. As an Integrations Engineer, you will steward the end-to-end technical process of integrating a blockchain to Axelar via Interchain Amplifier. You will play a pivotal role in researching new smart contract languages, virtual machines & alternative cryptographic verification methods in order to design bespoke technical specifications for integrating different blockchains to the network.

You will work cross-functionally, primarily with Product and Engineering and potentially also Developer Relations & Business Development to help partners successfully achieve their goals through bespoke integrations and to constantly improve internal products and processes to provide a better developer experience.

Your responsibilities
  • Act as the primary technical contact for developers, partners, and clients seeking to integrate their blockchain into Axelar’s interoperability network.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements, and translate them into actionable technical recommendations and solutions.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance throughout the integration and implementation process, addressing challenges and ensuring successful outcomes. The assistance will cover Interchain Amplifier technical integration facets, which will primarily include but are not limited to:
    • Smart contract design and implementation.
    • Understanding safety guarantees and limitations of blockchains to integrate with Interchain Amplifier.
    • Advice on integration into SDKs and API systems including Axelarscan and Relayers.
    • Establishing processes and automations around deployment, upgrades, monitoring and management of smart contracts and related deployment scripts.
    • Researching and establishing upfront chain parameters and configuration, including validator incentive programs, finality blocks, etc.
Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of +3 years as an Integrations Engineer, Protocol Engineer, Smart Contract Engineer, or similar role within the blockchain industry.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain concepts, decentralized networks, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in blockchain smart contract language(s) [i.e. Solidity, Rust, Move]
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving in technical environments.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced start-up environment and embrace new challenges.
  • Prior experience working remotely or in a distributed team is a plus.
Why us?
  • Autonomous, distributed environment with the opportunity to work collaboratively in a diverse team across the world.
  • The scope to contribute to high impact work and really make a difference in a decentralized protocol.
  • The chance to challenge yourself whilst learning heaps of stuff in the process.
  • Unlimited time off throughout the year to rest and recharge.
  • Competitive compensation with stock options, experiencing growth from the initial phase.
