Role Purpose

We are looking for a dedicated People Assistant to join our People Team. This role will support and drive several key people functions, including people administration and contracting, business support, people data analysis, process improvement, remuneration management, and employee relations. The People Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our employees.

Key Responsibilities of the role

People Administration

  • Manage with people administrative tasks such as onboarding, offboarding and maintaining personal records.
  • Ensure compliance with our policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that all data is accurately updated on all People systems and relevant platforms.

Business Support:

  • Collaborate with the people team to provide support to departments or teams.
  • Assist in addressing people-related inquiries and needs of employees and managers.
  • Champion Coppers culture setting a balanced tone between innovation and risk-based decision making.

Data and Metrics:

  • Manage in data collection, analysis and reporting on people metrices to support decision making.
  • Generate insights and recommendations based on people data.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for people process enhancements and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in projects aimed at optimising people workflows.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of the employee journey

Remuneration

  • Support the remuneration and compensation process, including salary reviews and bonus programmes.
  • Assist in ensuring competitive compensation packages within the industry.

Employee Relations Support

  • Collaborate with the People Manager and management team to address employee concerns and foster a positive working environment.
  • Assist in conducting investigations and resolving workplace issues.

Your experience, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Experience working in a fast-paced People Assistant role.
  • Accurate application of employee data within systems and documents, adhering to confidentiality standards and maintaining data integrity.
  • Experience delivering best in class generalist People services to a medium sized business with exceptional results.
  • Understanding of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding requirements.
  • Familiarity with UK employment laws and regulations.
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for creating a great employee experience.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to operate in a flexible and pragmatic way.
  • Able to handle confidential information sensitively.
  • Ability to think differently, challenge process and demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (HR certification is a plus)
  • Experience working in a start-up environment
