Role & Responsibilities
We’re hiring a Recruiter (6 Month Contract) to help us scale our rapidly growing team with a focus on filling high priority roles across the organization. This is a hands-on, full-cycle role owning all phases from the hiring process including sourcing, interviewing and closing candidates. There is an opportunity for this to become a full-time position after the contract comes to an end.
What are the role responsibilities?
Own end-to-end recruiting for high impact, priority roles for Optimism.
Partner closely with business leaders to calibrate on talent – move fast without sacrificing quality.
Proactively source and engage candidates through outbound outreach, referrals, and creative channels + partner with agencies for top of funnel support.
Run tight, thoughtful interview processes that respect candidates’ time and reflect our values.
Manage offer processes, negotiate thoughtfully, and close top talent.
Build strong candidate relationships and deliver a standout candidate experience.
Keep pipelines organized and up to date in our ATS.

Continuously improve how we hire as we scale (processes, tooling, messaging, etc.).
What skills do you bring?
3–6+ years of recruiting experience in a high growth, startup environment.
Strong full-cycle recruiting chops; you’re comfortable owning roles from first outreach to signed offer.
A scrappy, proactive sourcing mindset – you don’t wait for applicants.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.
Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
Bias toward action, speed, and continuous improvement.
