Working at Wintermute
We are looking for a Research Analyst to design and develop digital asset indices. You will be conducting profound analysis of crypto assets, gain an understanding of market trends, and provide insights into the dynamics of crypto markets. We would expect you to develop thought-leadership in the digital assets space.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing and updating the index methodology of existing indices to ensure relevance and accuracy. You will also be tasked with conducting back-testing and validation of index methodologies to ensure they meet specified criteria and objectives.
You will be part of a team that is creating a completely new product (this is a greenfield project). As such you will have a lot of autonomy and room to make your own decisions. You will work closely with business development and software engineering functions. You will also be interacting with external stakeholders such as end-users to understand their needs, help develop tailored index solutions and present index research findings to them.
The ideal candidate has prior experience working directly with financial indices, such as equity and commodity indices, and benchmark pricing in a financial institution. A deep understanding of digital assets is key.
Requirements
- 3+ years of working experience in a relevant field, particularly in roles in the investment space (ETFs, mutual funds) and index research and design.
- Index Business Acumen: Deep knowledge of index construction, operation, and the business aspects of indices in the financial sector.
- Cryptocurrency Experience: Strong experience in analyzing digital assets and understanding their market implications.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in market analysis, especially in digital assets and cryptocurrencies.
- Communication: Excellent skills in conveying complex information effectively and confidently to a varied audience.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and the ability to perform data analysis and manipulation using large data sets.
- Adaptability: Capability to adapt to various responsibilities in a dynamic, early-stage company environment. Hands-on attitude with a strong drive to get involved in all aspects of the product.
- Teamwork: Effective collaboration within a diverse team under leadership guidance.
- Strong academic track record with B.S. or advanced degree in a quantitative domain such as Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Physics, Computer Science.
