Overview
In collaboration with internal and industry stakeholders, including the League Office Business Development Innovations team, help manage day-to-day engagement with Clubs related to various League priorities, policies and projects, with an immediate focus on digital technology, including Blockchain, NFT/Digital Collectibles, Cryptocurrency, and Metaverse execution. An area of emphasis for the 2022/23 season will be the intersection of related Club engagement and the opportunities associated with the execution of the national partnerships, as well as the extension of the current Club “trial period” for NFT/Digital Collectibles and Cryptocurrency advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
Essential Duties
  • This role is integral to the management of Club engagement associated with new technology partnership activation opportunities; and other related new business opportunities.
  • It involves the evaluation of proposed Club partnerships and related materials submissions, including the review/approval process for execution of under NHL policies and collaboration with internal stakeholders (Business Development Innovations, Sales, Marketing, Legal, QC, etc.).
  • The candidate will help support Clubs throughout the evaluation process, including identifying issues and opportunities of proposed Club partnerships prior to League office review, and enabling League and Club management to proactively address sensitive matters in a timely manner for the benefit of all.

Qualifications
  • A 4-year undergraduate degree is required. A minimum of four (4) years of post-graduate professional employment history required; and League, team, and/or media property experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal (including written and oral) communication skills.
  • Problem-solving capabilities and able to adapt quickly.

Ideal candidate should also be highly motivated and a self-starter. Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, have strong attention to detail and a demonstrated customer service / account management experience. Should have the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment to manage deliverables and meet deadlines. Must have a willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as needed and possess exceptional technology skills, including fluency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and have a high level of interest / familiarity in emerging media and digital technology platforms.
