Job Description

Elwood is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Team where you will contribute to the development, monitoring and scalability efforts required to ensure high availability of the platform.

Responsibilities

As a valued member of the software engineering team the successful applicant will:

• have built a career spanning engineering, devops, infrastructure and site-reliability

• have prior experience in CI/CD transformation projects

• assist in the automation effort to ensure zero-downtime is achieved during deployment of system components

• work with Chief Architect and Team Leads to ensure high availability of components within the platform

• collaborate with Lead Engineers to ensure consistent monitoring and alerting of key observability metrics across all components

• challenge architectural decisions to ensure infrastructure and software-related SRE objectives are met for all new projects

• work alongside the Project Management Team to manage incidents, conduct post-mortems and ensure resulting action items are completed

• lead the scale testing initiative to identify weaknesses/bottlenecks in the system whilst under load, prior to delivery

Qualifications / Knowledge

• A working knowledge of Golang

• A strong command of managing cloud-native environments e.g. GCP/ AWS / Azure

• A firm grasp of observability tooling e.g. Prometheus, DataDog, Grafana, OpsGenie

• A track record of working with large-scale concurrent, event-driven distributed systems

• Deployment-enabling tooling such as Terraform, Docker, scripting

• Experience with CI/CD with zero-downtime deployments

Desirable

• A working knowledge of C#

• Trading / financial knowledge

• Distributed messaging systems e.g. NATS, TIBCO

• Experience with relational databases such e.g. Postgres, SQL Server

• Experience in development and supporting trading/EMS/PMS systems

• Understanding of crypto markets and products
