We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer, Operations, to join our Network operations team. This role is hybrid and based in our Ramat Gan, Israel office three days a week, reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Operations. What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

Design and Implement Scalable Solutions: Take ownership of the design, development, and deployment of highly available, resilient, and scalable software solutions tailored for Zscaler's expansive network infrastructure, leveraging deep expertise in network automation and modern software development practices Operational Support and Optimization: Actively assist in the ongoing support, maintenance, and continuous optimization of our existing, state-of-the-art network infrastructure, ensuring peak performance and reliability Workflow Management Development: Contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of our custom workflow manager solution, leveraging platforms like Temporal to design complex workflows, ensure error handling, and integrate disparate systems Enterprise Monitoring and Observability: Play a vital role in the development and deployment of sophisticated, enterprise-grade monitoring and observability solutions that provide real-time visibility and actionable insights into the health and performance of our network infrastructure

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in DevOps, Systems Integration, Network Automation, or closely related technical domains within a cloud environment Robust knowledge and operational experience in designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines and large-scale infrastructure automation frameworks Expert-level proficiency in object-oriented programming with Python, alongside proven expertise in shell scripting and leveraging industry-standard automation tools like Ansible or Terraform Practical experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and fundamental knowledge of container orchestration concepts like Kubernetes Experience working with and managing resources on major public cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

Deep understanding and practical familiarity with core network services architecture, particularly DNS, and related networking protocols Knowledge of and practical interest in cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and Prompt Engineering, specifically how they can be applied to enhance operations and automation Professional, hands-on experience utilizing and developing with Temporal or other complex distributed workflow manager solutions
