Job Description
As part of the Business Development team, this role involves understanding client requirements and architecting bespoke solutions using bleeding edge technology as well as creating detailed proposals with detailed deliverables, project timelines and resources.
Following the closing of a sale a solution architect will work with the client and the development team during the opening weeks of the project to ensure smooth handover and that the project has been fully understood by the development team. The TSE must be able to:
- Design sophisticated technical solutions and be able to make technical decisions in real time as client requirements are understood.
- Identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process and onboarding.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed proposals with full lists of functional and non-functional requirements
- Convey customer requirements to Product Management & development teams.
- Give public talks/presentations about Company technology, products and services.
- Give regular status updates to other members of the Business Development team and Program Managers.
- Liaise with the Engineering team to keep them up-to-date with the status of current projects and understand the upcoming technology changes to allow for the creation of necessary communication to clients.
- Stay up to date with a rapidly changing industry to develop an understanding of newly developed solutions in the market.
- This role does not include active development however a successful candidate will have a full understanding of what it takes to develop the solutions they propose.
Requirements
- Have worked as an architect or developer in an agency/consultancy creating project proposals for bespoke solutions developed from scratch.
- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a fintech organisation with a rapidly expanding customer base.
- Ability to write code in one or more general purpose programming languages such as Javascript, Python, C/C++, Rust.
- Proven track record collaborating with others in a dynamic, fast-paced, pressured environment, but capable independently of turning an abstract idea into a strategic, pragmatic solution where needed.
- A careful blend of creativity and pragmatism. We are part of a community bootstrapping a technology and demand for the technology, while simultaneously on tight delivery timelines.
- Excellent communications skills, comfortable presenting complex concepts before large client audiences.
- Ability to effectively summarise and present validation findings to senior level executives internally and at clients.
- Willingness and ability to learn new concepts.
- Organisation and analytical mindset.
Preferred
- Experience as a hands-on software engineer on a large scale project.
- Knowledge of blockchain or financial markets.
- Experience at a FinTech startup.
- A degree in Computer Science or the equivalent.
