Background  Our mission at Discreet Labs is to develop scalable privacy systems that protect people.

Discreet Labs is one of the core developers of Findora, a public blockchain with programmable privacy. The original research team behind Findora also invented Bulletproofs, a type of zero-knowledge proofs that have been widely used across different blockchains such as Monero, Mimblewimble, and Grin. Discreet Labs has implemented Bulletproofs on Findora to support confidential transactions, and private asset issuance. The company is also working on additional zero-knowledge proofs to support confidential smart contracts for more programmable privacy.

Discreet Labs is backed by Polychain and Powerscale Capital, and is partnered with dozens of companies and organizations including Tencent, BSN, MetisDAO, Taxa, Bank of Asia, Travel USA Express, MoneyMoov, IOTPay, YouWorld, Citcon, and Bayes.

Discreet Labs is a remote-first company with employees across 5 different continents, although we have offices in Palo Alto, CA and Beijing, China. We have invested in the platform, tools and benefits to support a remote work environment.

Although this position will be remote, with occasional travel to North America, Europe and Asia, it will require working hours that overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST). Strong written and spoken language proficiency in English is required, although knowledge of other languages (e.g. Mandarin, Spanish), would be an advantage in order to liaise with stakeholders across the world.

Overview This is an exciting opportunity as Discreet Labs' VP of People. In this role, you will work at the intersection of people, talent, culture, and operations. You will bring passion and experience to help build scalable organizational systems and processes to accelerate growth across the company, which spans 5 continents.

Impact - Lead and manage Discreet Labs’ people operations team which comprises human resources and talent acquisition - Collaborate with executive team to culturalize the company’s vision and mission - Develop strategic HR plans and policies including recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, etcBuild and lead a team of of HR professionals that can execute on the collective strategy  - Create operational capabilities and strategically source external tools and platforms to accelerate the rollout of HR systems - Be an advocate of all our people by creating a global culture of inclusivenessDecide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity, etc. - Assume responsibility of labor and employee relations - Re-engineer processes to ensure maximum efficiency - Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices - Analyze the effectiveness of HR operations and policies - Prepare reports for executive staff using business metrics and KPIs - Generate goodwill across the company and broader blockchain ecosystem

Requirements - Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages, e.g. Chinese, Spanish, would be an advantage in order to liaise with stakeholders across the world - Proven experience growing teams as VP of HR or other senior HR role - Experience in strategic planning and implementation - Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment, learning & development, etc.) - Ability to use metrics and analytics to evaluate strategy and develop tacticsKnowledge of local and international labor law - Working knowledge of HR platforms (payroll, recruiting, employee engagement, etc) - Aptitude in communicating and public speaking - Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities - Bachelors in business, HR, social sciences or related field; Masters is preferableCertification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is nice-to-have - Strong passionate belief in the defense of privacy
