This role will be focused on the first product Convex is going to market with, reporting to Jenn Kalidoss (LinkedIn, Twitter), Convex Labs’ Chief Strategy Officer.
What you’ll do
As a Product Designer, you’ll...
Collaborate with Jenn, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for our data infrastructure platform.
Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design ideas and user experience.
Conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate on design solutions based on user needs and business requirements.
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies.
Role includes
- A high degree of responsibility and autonomy
- Intimate access to learn from and work with some renowned and influential stakeholders in Web3 (Convex advisors and investors, founders of Convex portfolio companies, etc.)
Requirements and skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- 3+ years of professional experience in product design, preferably within the spaces of data infrastructure, enterprise software, blockchain, or developer tooling
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of UI/UX principles, visual design, and user-centered design processes
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Experienced and comfortable with remote team dynamics, process, and tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Experience leading teams with clear communication skills
- Ability to work independently, and take responsibility and pride over your work
Also, ideally...
- You have familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic front-end development principles
- Experience designing and creating product animations
- You have exposure to process of building data or infrastructure products, either as a data scientist, product manager or engineer (or related roles)
- You have general experience participating in the web3 ecosystem
- You have an ability to work well within a culturally diverse and distributed team
- You’re hungry, smart, talented, and collaborative
- You’re a self-starter with the attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
- You execute with speed, high standards, and contribute new ways of thinking
- You can show some historical work relevant to the role
