We are looking for a senior Tech Lead for our platform team with experience designing and implementing serverless applications in AWS and collaborating in the software architecture of Microservices. This role will ensure proper coordination between other technical teams as necessary as it relates to the technical success of the project/products. We are looking for a motivated leader who has a strong desire to work hard and mentor. The Tech Lead reports directly to the VP of Technology. Additional responsibilities include working closely with individual engineers to drive technological innovation, maintain the teams' efficacy, and manage people, processes, and technical tasks.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Europe, with a yearly base salary range of 78.780€ - 88.780€. This position is also located in the US East Coast, with a yearly base salary range of $120,175 - $130,175.

These are the position's responsibilities

  • Ensuring the Platform team provides timely delivery of tasks through management (prioritization and delegation of work, removing or escalating blockers, ensuring adequate communication, managing PTO, policy adherence, etc.)
  • Providing professional and career coaching and mentorship to the individuals of the Platform team.
  • Participating in organizational strategy tasks.
  • Communicate with the internal team, including the VP of Engineering and Product Leads, on the status of team initiatives and health.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, like technology vendors, tech partners, and team augmentation agencies.
  • Participating in hiring and onboarding engineers.
  • Ensure products and systems adhere to established patterns and best practices.
  • Manage PR reviews, technical design reviews, etc.
  • Ensure proper coordination between other technical teams as necessary as it relates to the technical success of the project/products (Ex: UI/UX, DevOps, MechE, Firmware, etc.)
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Participate heavily in discovery tasks.
  • Communicate heavily with Product Managers.
  • Participate heavily in discovery tasks and delivery planning.
  • Provide technical documentation.

These Are The Technical Skills And Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience designing and interpreting software architecture of data streaming and event-driven architectures.
  • Understanding of agile processes and planning using tools like Asana.
  • Strong capability for Serverless framework development with AWS: API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, RDS, IAM, etc.
  • Expertise in using Javascript & NodeJS.
  • Experience using GraphQL (Apollo Server).
  • Proficiency in automated deployment (GitHub Actions).
  • Experience in automated testing (Mocha, Chai, Sinon).
  • Skilled at using the GitHub environment.

Preferred:

  • Comprehension of machine learning & artificial intelligence.
  • Experience with Web3 technologies, particularly blockchain.
  • Experience with embedded systems & IoT.
  • Knowledge of mapping tools (Mapbox, Google Maps, GIS).
  • Understanding of Google Material Design.
  • Python, and other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with React native & development of smartphone apps.
