Kioskis a new Farcaster client where social meets onchain. We want creators to be able to build a community from 0-to-1 all within the app. When onchain social meets onchain commerce, it should be easy to share a media-rich idea with your social graph, make it mintable as an NFT, gather like-minded collectors and collaborators in a channel, establish custom channel economics like tipping and distribution, and chat with your community – all without leaving the app.

We are a small, passionate team based in New York City, with a breadth of experience that has been building in this space for years. We’ve raised $21M in funding led by a16z crypto, Union Square Ventures, Electric Capital and Variant Fund.

Who are you?

A startup-tested, creative, product-and-tech-obsessed Director of Engineering who will serve as a key strategic partner as we bring a new product into the world. We're not just seeking someone to execute our vision; we're seeking a dynamic collaborator who will challenge assumptions, inspire fresh perspectives, and help us fully realize the potential of our vision and team.

As Director of Engineering, you'll translate our shared vision into an architecture plan. You'll be responsible for our engineers—you'll help our teammates sharpen their skill and increase their scope, you'll help organize and lead them to execute on the plan you define, and you'll help reconfigure and expand the team as necessary to meet the needs of this plan. You should be excited to get your hands dirty when necessary and ready to back off and let the team run when they're ready to.

Responsibilities

• Guide the engineering vision, translating high-level strategy into tangible technical implementations and architecture. Architect our product roadmap and infrastructure.
• Collaboratively work with leadership, product and design, refining features and ensuring optimal resource allocation. Hands-on coding alongside your team where needed!
• Own the recruitment, training, mentoring, and development of our dynamic engineering team (currently a team of 3), ensuring cohesion and high performance. Build and foster a positive engineering team culture.
• Continuously enhance our engineering best practices, methodologies, and systems.
• Lead multifaceted projects, ensuring that complex problems are translated into actionable deliverables.

Requirements

• 8+ years writing consumer-focused production software, with a minimum of 2 years in leadership roles and a strong interest in the Web3 space.
• Track record of effective team leadership, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.
• Product-focused mindset and experience building beautiful consumer products.
• Demonstrable experience guiding products from early-stage concepts to successful market launches.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to articulate intricate technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Pragmatic problem solver, emphasizing clean, efficient solutions.
• The ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience building native mobile consumer applications (iOS, Android)
• Meaningful open source contributions or public code for us to appreciate
• Typescript, React Native
• Knowledge of the Farcaster Ecosystem
• Web3 experience

Salary Range

• $250,000 - $330,000 (based on experience)
