The Role
Messari is looking for an Associate Director of Legal to support the legal team, helping them scale and grow as we expand to serve new markets, develop new product lines, and launch new compliance programs.
What you'll do
- Be the right-hand person to the Director of Legal, acting as a strategic business partner
- Oversee entity formation including creation of formation documents and filings with local and regional authorities
- Proactive identification and mitigation of legal and commercial risks relating to new and existing products
- Assist with a broad range of legal matters, including corporate, securities, employment, intellectual property, privacy, and dispute resolution
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Develop internal processes for legal project management and cross-team coordination
- Provide risk-weighted legal advice to management on contract negotiations, transactional activity, and dispute resolution
- Assist the Legal Director in implementing, operating, and enhancing regulatory compliance policies, processes, and procedures
- Pitching in whenever and wherever needed by our small but growing legal team, even if not directly related to responsibilities described above, possibly in relation to some of the following: privacy, corporate governance, intellectual property/technology and HR/employment, and product development.
Who you are
- 4+ years of legal experience (at least three years at a leading law firm with additional in-house experience at a technology, crypto, or enterprise SaaS company)
- Degree from an accredited law school with admission to a state bar
- Strong organizational skills and business judgment with ability to build and maintain strong cross functional working relationships
- Highly organized with superior time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities often under tight deadline
- Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and do what it takes to accomplish team objectives
Cash Compensation Ranges for this position (depending on experience):
$178,000-$218,000#LI-AM1
