MobileCoin is building the future of digital payments. We’ve developed a cryptocurrency you can use every day to pay for anything while protecting your privacy and data from prying eyes.
We are passionate about implementing scientific and mathematical methods to explore, isolate, and solve problems in the global financial markets while respecting user privacy. We believe that career fulfillment and enterprise success converge when smart, hard-working, and intellectually curious people come together with a shared goal of innovation and the pursuit of excellence.
MobileCoin is an avid supporter of the arts. Beyond being a privacy-focused payments company, we believe that the act of creation requires privacy. MobileCoin has created a platform, MobileCoin Radio, in which we offer a safe space for creators to manifest their art, be it audio, digital, spoken, or otherwise. We also have a budding Artist in Residence program and collaborate with various independent and established brands on new ideas and designs.
Your role:
Get in on the ground floor and help build our new Developer Relations Team! This fast-paced and challenging role is for an entrepreneurial minded go-getter with a keen intuition for building community. You will start off as an IC with the goal of eventually creating and leading our Dev Rel team. This role is both inwardly and outwardly facing. Internally, you will be our developer advocate, strategizing and communicating your knowledge across departments to ensure product fit. Externally, you and your team will be the connective tissue between MobileCoin and our greater development community. This is not a job where you will be endlessly sitting at a desk pushing papers or writing code. Be ready to be on your feet creating and leading a team, travelling the world, speaking out to thousands of people, interfacing between communities, and helping to build a product that will ultimately change the way the world thinks about money.

- Cultivate a vibrant developer and product community both online and offline
- Ferret out the beliefs and opinions of the community and uncover ideas
- Travel the world

- Build cool stuff - demos, how-to’s
- Formulate a roadmap and oversee deliverables for cross-functional teams
- Make friends with complementary developer-forward companies
- Identify gaps in product/API/tooling/documentation and report them back to the right teams to get things fixed
- Ensure written content on MobileCoin website and social media accounts is the best fit for our audience

- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to build a Dev Rel team from the ground up
- Has a visceral sense of what matters to developers and what doesn’t
- Has a passion for building a developer & product community
- Has the best interests of the community as your guiding principle
- Understands that the more ecstatic the community is about using our product, the more likely the company is to succeed at our goals
- Is excited to travel all over the world and share our vision with large groups of people
- Has a strong written ability
- Understands the evolving challenges of development and product teams at scale and how companies interact with third-party dependencies
Ideally you have:
- 5-7+ years working as a developer advocate
- Experience building mobile applications and working with third-party APIs and SDKs
- A technical background and ability to get into the finer details of API development, governance and communication
