During our three-month long accelerator program, our promising pre-seed and seed stage startups work with leading investors and corporate partners to validate and invalidate business ideas, build products, define and grow KPIs, develop product-market fit, and fundraise.

Description:

OWC is hiring Crypto Researcher to join our growing team.

Utilizing on-chain data, market data, internal experimentation, industry relationships, and the insights available through our community, clients and partners.

Strong knowledge of the space is a must. This includes technical and economic factors, as well as specific verticals, such as DeFi, crypto markets, or NFTs. Our ideal candidate is an analytical thinker, comfortable challenging viewpoints or having their opinions challenged, and can work with data and draw actionable insights from it.

What You’ll Do:

Risk Management:

  • Contribute to formulating hedging strategies and risk management procedures
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of the market risk of the firm positions
  • Work continuously on the improvement of the analytical framework, processes and techniques used for the market risk analysis, maintain close contact with professionals and teams covering adjacent areas (i.e. operational risk)
  • Engage with developers on projects that further enhance risk infrastructure.

Partner with the Investment Team:

  • Perform fundamental, data-driven analysis into various cryptocurrency networks and verticals
  • Work directly with OWC's investment committee to convert research into actionable, investing insight
  • Analyze token economics and value accrual mechanisms of proposed tokens

Protocol & Community Participation:

  • Present research and provide commentary through conferences, media appearances, and private client meetings.
  • DAO Governance Strategist and contributor: Engages closely in DAO governance, including generating proposals, fostering discussions, and voting with tokens held by OWC or delegated to us. Formally vote in proposals, both on-chain and off-chain

Industry Research and Thought Leadership:

  • Identify and pursue research topics independently and/or as part of an assigned effort
  • Generate unique and insightful research content for internal and external distribution
  • Stay abreast of new teams, protocols, projects, and developments in the blockchain industry
  • Map verticals across the digital asset landscape (e.g. DeFi, NFT)

Qualifications:

  • Deep interest in and existing knowledge of cryptocurrency networks and markets
  • Skills in any of the following: data analysis, financial analysis and modeling, markets and trading, software engineering, computer science, cryptography, network analysis, cybersecurity research
  • Degree in economics, computer science, or finance
  • Strong data analysis skills, including Excel, Python, and SQL, as well as crypto native tools, like block explorers, Dune Analytics, Nansen, Skew, and Messari
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Keen attention to detail and writing skills are a must. Candidates will be required to submit a writing sample during the interview process.
