Orca is the most user-friendly AMM DEX on Solana. This is an open call for all on-chain experts! We’re looking for a data scientist to conduct analytics and on-chain research that will directly impact Orca’s strategy for user and liquidity acquisition. As one of the first protocols on Solana, we offer a unique chance to shape the culture of a growing ecosystem.

About our team: • A lean team of ~12 senior contributors based across multiple timezones • Fully remote and location-agnostic • Passionate about building a better financial system through DeFi

What you'll do: • Query and analyze on-chain data • Identify insights that make a direct impact on Orca’s user acquisition and emission strategies • Produce dashboards and memos, diving deep into existing protocols to understand user behavior and potential market needs • Spend most of your day conducting analytics—on your schedule!

Example problems you might solve: • How can we categorize all the addresses trading on Solana DEXes by analyzing on-chain activity? • What kind of insights about user behavior can we get from categorizing addresses by on-chain activity? • How many LPs overlap in providing liquidity across multiple platforms? When do they move positions and what causes this behavior?

What you bring: • Experience querying and manipulating on-chain data, preferably on Solana • Understanding of and experience with data pipelines • Ability to package and clearly communicate insights identified to directly impact decision making • Resonance with Orca’s brand values (professional, principled, and playful 🐳) • Excellent English communication skills

Bonus points if you have... • Conducted on-chain analytics before, especially for the Solana ecosystem • Experience with MongoDB • Used Orca for trading and/or liquidity provision • Participated in DeFi, especially the Solana ecosystem • Appreciation for cheesy marine puns

Details of the role: • This is a contractor role that can be full-time or part-time and does not offer health insurance.
