Flint Labs is building a high-performance on-chain DEX on Solana.
Recently, we shipped our first product: a plug-and-quote path into Solana's order flow, the highest-volume, most active in DeFi. Makers bring their pricing and risk logic; Flint handles the rest.
The production MVPs for spot, borrow/lend and perps are underway, and early team members will define core architecture and protocol design.
The company is fully backed by Ergonia, a crypto-native market-making firm with deep experience trading and building on Solana.
We are starting from a deliberately minimal core and iterating rapidly toward a full-featured mainnet exchange. This is a high-ownership role building production systems under aggressive timelines.
About the role
You will design and build across Flint's full stack, from on-chain and backend systems to the frontend trading interface.
Responsibilities
Build core exchange logic: markets, users, collateral, fees, and order routing.
Build the trading interface: order entry, positions, balances, charts, and real-time market data.
Implement on-chain matching, margining, liquidation, and risk enforcement.
Integrate Solana wallet flows and backend services into real-time UI systems.
Help design the end-to-end architecture of the exchange, from smart contracts to the frontend.
Implement low-latency data streaming and state management across the stack.
Improve developer tooling and onboarding experience.
Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and compute efficiency.
Write thorough tests and maintain clear, living documentation.
Own features end to end, from design to production.
Requirements
3+ years of professional software development experience.
Comfortable working across the stack: Rust for backend and on-chain systems, React and TypeScript for frontend.
Experience building complex, data-intensive web applications.
Strong backend fundamentals including APIs, distributed systems, and async systems.
Experience with low-latency or performance-sensitive systems.
Familiarity with DeFi, trading, or financial applications.
Ownership mindset and comfort in an early-stage environment.
Strong English communication skills.
Bonus points
Experience building trading interfaces or orderbook->
Experience integrating Solana wallets and transaction flows in web apps.
Solana runtime optimizations and CU profiling.
Previous experience with matching engines, order books, prop AMMs, or execution systems.
Familiarity with perpetuals, margin trading, funding mechanics, or ADL.
Market-making or trading infrastructure experience.
What we offer
No bureaucracy, just fast shipping and real impact.
High ownership and real impact from day one.
Competitive base plus meaningful token/equity upside aligned with long-term protocol success.
Fully remote.
IRL meetups and company offsites.
What does a full stack developer in web3 do?
A full stack web3 developer is a developer who has expertise in the full stack of technologies that are used to build web3 applications
These applications use the decentralized, distributed nature of the web3 network to provide users with a secure and decentralized way of accessing and interacting with online services and applications. The responsibilities of a full stack web3 developer will vary depending on the specific project and the needs of the team they are working with
In general, though, a full stack web3 developer will be responsible for: designing and building the front-end and back-end of web3 applications, as well as implementing and maintaining the underlying blockchain infrastructure
This will often involve working with a variety of different technologies and programming languages, such as Solidity for smart contract development, JavaScript and HTML for front-end development, and various blockchain protocols and frameworks. Additionally, a full stack web3 developer may also be responsible for working with the web3 community to help drive adoption and integration of web3 technologies, as well as staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and contributing to the broader web3 ecosystem.
